There are no application fees, but volunteers pay a program fee according to the number of weeks they will stay. The program fee includes accommodation in the community, three meals a day, the coordination, organization and support during the volunteer program. There are no mandatory expenditures besides the program fee. There might be smaller costs associated with trips to other communities. However, such trips are optional and normally arranged during weekends participation is not required. There is also a small shop in the community where it’s possible to buy beers, coca-colas, biscuits and candy etc.

The prices for 2010

Special discounts for long term volunteers (4 weeks +)

After 4 weeks each additional week is 75 USD up to a total of 8 weeks. After 8 weeks, volunteers will only pay 50 USD per additional week, live with a local family and work together with the volunteer coordinator, treasurer or secretary.

Returning volunteers

We offer discounts for our returning volunteers. Returning volunteers pay 50 USD per week. You qualify as a returning volunteer 6 months after ending your first stay.

How to pay

The program fee has to be paid prior to your arrival. We need to receive your fee at least 3 weeks before your arrival date in Arútam.

When you send us your application form we will forward you an invoice by e-mail. The invoice can be paid using PayPal.

When we have received the fee we will make the final reservation and forward you a receipt. You need to bring the receipt with you to the community where it will serve as your payment.

Extensions and change of arrival date

Your stay can always be extended directly in Arútam by the end of your period. Once you have paid the program fee you are welcome to make all the changes necessary to your arrival date until 2 weeks before your arrival.

Refunds

You can cancel your reservation by sending an email to info@fundecoipa.com. Without explanatory statement or justification, we will cancel your reservation up to 21 days (three weeks) before your arrival date. We will refund your payment using PayPal by sending the fee to your PayPal account. We will only be able to return the program fee and not the PayPal transaction fee. Moreover, we will have to charge an administration fee of 10 percent (with a maximum of 50 USD). All refund claims from 3 weeks before your arrival date and until the end of your stay has to be made Arútam, Ecuador.
