The community is situated in the Pastaza province of Ecuador. To get there you must take a bus from Quito (or anywhere else) heading to Puyo (the provincial capital of Pastaza). Bus tickets are 5-6 USD. This ride takes about 5-6 hours. From Puyo you need to take a bus going towards Macas. You have to get off the bus on the way to Macas (approx 1 hour and 45 min from Puyo). Tell the driver to drop you off at kilometre 48 (“kilometro quarenta y ocho”) on the Puyo-Macas road or at "Arutam" (Bosque Protector Arutam). The community is situated next to the road. There’s a sign with a jaguar on the left side of the road and on the right side you can see the house of the women’s group with a bright red roof. The ride from Puyo to Arutam cost approximately 1.75 USD.
