There are no Spanish level requirements for volunteering. We receive volunteers without any previous Spanish skills to volunteers with advanced Spanish skills and native Spanish speakers. Basic Spanish skills, however, will improve your experience and ability to communicate with villagers as the working language is Spanish and villagers speak little English. If you have the possibility to take one or two weeks of Spanish classes previous to volunteering, we recommend this. Then the project will be a great way to practice Spanish afterwards.

We are working with two excellent Spanish schools in Quito called Instituto Superior de Español and Ecole Idiomas. Both schools offer one to one as well as group classes in and outside Quito as well as Homestays with Ecuadorian families and lots of social activities. For more information please contact the schools.
