How to get there
FUNDECOIPA and has its office in the community Arútam. The community is situated in the Pastaza province of Ecuador. To get there you must take a bus from Quito (or anywhere else in Ecuador) heading to Puyo (the provincial capital of Pastaza). Bus tickets are 5-6 USD and the trip takes about 5-6 hours. From Puyo you need to take a bus going towards Macas. You have to get off the bus on the way to Macas (approximately 1 hour and 30 min from Puyo). Tell the driver to drop you off at kilometer 48 (“kilometro quarenta y ocho”) on the Puyo-Macas road or at Arútam (Bosque Protector Arútam). The community is situated next to the road. There’s a sign with a jaguar on the left side of the road and on the right side you can see the house of the women’s group with a bright red roof. The ride from Puyo to Arútam cost approximately 1.50 USD.
